CMAS Nitrox Basic

The CMAS Nitrox Basic is a course suitable for all the already certified divers who wants to start using Nitrox mixtures. Using air as breathing mixture it’s considered old and not up to date, and because of that we encourage everyone to get this certification before continuing the diving career. We usually offer this training in combination with the CMAS D1, CMAS D2 or CMAS Skills, but it can be attended also separately.


The CMAS Nitrox Basic course is designed for acquire all the necessary knowledge regarding the use of breathing mixtures with an increased percentage of oxygen. You will learn all the benefits and risks associated with the use of Nitrox mixtures, how to manage the equipment, how to plan dives with Nitrox and many other things.

After you get the certification it will allows you to dive using Nitrox mixtures until 30 meters depth (or less, according by other certification limits).


The CMAS Nitrox Basic course is usually conducted over one to two days (full or half) and includes two open water dives (preceded by land drills) and two theoretical lessons conducted in classroom.


The course ends when the students have passed a written exam and have fullfilled all the pratical outcomes.

  • Diving equipment: GAVs, regulators, tanks, weights, instruments
  • Tanks refills in EAN32
In the course fee it’s not included:

  • Wet suit rental
  • Mask, Fins and Gloves

Career Pathway

After you get the CMAS Nitrox Basic certification you can continue your diving career by taking one of the following courses:


  • 14 Years Old
  • CMAS Diver 1 or equivalent
  • At least 2 dives
  • Medical certificate
  • Minors: parental authorization
