The CMAS Advanced and Technical Skills course provides to all divers an opportunity to refine and increase the basic diving skills acquired in courses taken in the past, when this diving system was not yet popular. It’s a class that can be taken both by divers who wants to improve their skills underwater for enjoy recreational diving with more comfort and fun, and by divers who wants to improve their skills underwater in order to gain the endorsement to the technical path.
Goal
The CMAS Advanced and Technical Skills course is designed to develop the essential skills for practice diving with comfort, confidence and competence. You will learn how to correctly configure your equipment following the DIR/Hogarthian setup, how to handle trim and buoyancy underwater, all the propulsion techniques, how to react in case of emergencies like gas sharing procedures, valve management procedures and many other things. The course can be followed using the recreational configuration (wet suit, single tank) or the technical configuration (dry suit, double tank, goodman torch).
After you get the Technical certification it will allows you to access the Trimix courses of our academy.
Additional note: the course includes the use of Nitrox mixtures, if you do not yet have this certification we give the possibility to integrate it in this course.
Duration
The CMAS Advanced and Technical Skills course is usually conducted over four full days and includes at least eight open water dives (preceded by land drills), one swim test and two theoretical lessons conducted in classroom.
Conclusion
The course ends when the students have passed a written exam and have fullfilled all the pratical outcomes.
